Serving with Broken Chains Since: 2016
Doris moved to the U.S in 1980 from the Netherlands. She has been married to Dick for 34 years, and has a daughter, Michele, who is married to James. She gave her life to Christ in 1993 when she attended Bible Study Fellowship, and started volunteering as a children’s teacher. Dick and Doris moved to Colorado in 2005, and she worked at the Women’s Resource Center as a counselor. They moved back to Las Vegas in 2007 and started attending Hope Church. Through her small group she connected with Pastor Cody and Heather. God used Broken Chains Ministry to change her heart toward the homeless and the drug addicted, to see them as God sees them. She feels honored to be a part of the board, and is excited to see what God has planned.

Serving with Broken Chains Since: 2014
Four years ago Kevin was invited by his brother-in-law to volunteer and serve at one of Broken Chains Christmas Outreaches. It was through that experience that the spark in his heart was kindled for a desire to support Broken Chains Ministry. Kevin and his wife gave financially, in secret, for the next three years without being involved otherwise with us.
In 2014 Kevin acted on an opportunity and donated some food for one of Wednesday night outreaches. It was through this donation that the passion in his heart for ministry to work with the homeless was rekindled. After seeing the working hearts of Pastor Cody, Heather, and the other volunteers in the action of serving, Kevin was drawn to be a part.
Kevin worked as a firefighter for 28 years with Clark County Fire and served with many different organizations behind the scenes before being a part of Broken Chains Ministry. He now rarely misses a Wednesday night since the first time he came to the park. He is always one of the last ones to leave after talking to all of the homeless that he can.
Kevin speaks at our Wednesday night outreaches and delivers solid, challenging messages from the Bible. We are so grateful for Kevin coming on board with our leadership team to help provide an example of what a servant leader looks like. Kevin attributes the great things in his life as a result of the Lord blessing him through his obedience in the areas of service, mentoring and teaching others. It is with this understanding in mind that Kevin says is his motivation to continue to be, “at His Service!”
