On April 30th Pastor Cody spoke at a lunch given by the Raymond James Financial Company. Raymond James Financial is an American multinational independent investment bank and financial services company providing financial services to individuals, corporations, and municipalities.
There were over 500 in attendance at the luncheon held at the Aria Hotel & Casino.
Todd Sanford, from RJF, initiated contact with Pastor Cody several months before the lunch asking him to speak. His daughter had researched Broken Chains on the Internet and suggested Pastor Cody to her father.
Pastor Cody, Heather and Tina Glass, a Broken Chains volunteer, had a wonderful time at the lunch; spoke with many people about the ministry and gave out signed copies of the ministry’s book “Handcuffs to Broken Chains”.
At the end of the lunch, they took up a collection for Broken Chains that was very, very substantial! We want to thank everyone from Raymond James Financial for their donations to the ministry and for caring for the less fortunate in Las Vegas.
Del Webb Middle School has been donating sandwiches once a month during the school year, for the past 8 years.
Each month during the school year students earning “community service time” make sandwiches for Broken Chains. These sandwiches are given out to the homeless on the street, halfway houses, veterans and at our Wednesday night outreach in the park.
We want to thank all the teachers, students and parents who are a part of this project. We greatly appreciate their care and contribution to the needy in Las Vegas!!
Everyone is invited to attend our weekly Bible study and BBQ. It is held at Myron Levitt Park (the old JC Park) on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm. The park is just north of the intersection of Eastern Avenue & Sahara Avenue. If you would like more details including a Google map, please visit our website contact page. Come and join us any Wednesday!
