SOCKS, SOCKS, SOCKS! We hand out over 100 pairs of socks a week to our homeless population. We need men’s white crew socks size 6-12; but purchase the cheapest you can find, as the homeless do not have the money or a place to wash them; so they just wear them and then throw them away; and so many of our homeless have foot problems due to wearing dirty or wet socks.
We purchase socks at Walmart as they are the least expensive that we have found, but still a decent quality. You can use this link or just go to your own Walmart and purchase them there (they are less expensive at a store than on the internet).
If you can help with this need it will be greatly appreciated! You can bring them to church and put them in the back of the bus or leave them at the church for us or you can send them to:
Broken Chains at 3368 Medina Ct., Las Vegas, NV 89121.
Christmas at the park was a fantastic success!! We had wonderful praise and worship by Kevin Chapman & his father Morris, Skip Jordan, our friend Paula and several others. Then Kevin preached a heartfelt sermon that touched everyone.
Kellie Diene and her sister Shannon O’Boyle prepared a fantastic Christmas meal with all the trimmings. What a feast!! And all homemade from scratch. Those two women really know how to cook!
We want to thank all of the volunteers who participated. They did a wonderful job of making out homeless population feel at home; as this is a sad time for most of them as they are alone without friends and family.
On December 7th Pastor Cody shared his testimony at the yearly “Conqueror’s Banquet” at Englewood Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. This event honors all those from surrounding areas who have conquered addictions.
Pastor Cody’s testimony is in a new book put out by CBN called “Rise Up; Stories of Remarkable Faith and Relentless Courage”. It is a great read and is available on Amazon.
Everyone is invited to attend our weekly Bible study and BBQ. It is held at Myron Levitt Park (the old JC Park) on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm.
