Broken Chains Ministry

Monthly Newsletter – September 2018

Englewood Baptist Church Visits Again.

Every year Englewood Baptist Church, from Rocky Mountain, North Carolina, visits Broken Chains. This year we had 26 people from their church visit our Wednesday Outreach on August 1st. What a wonderful group they are and they are totally committed to embracing the homeless in our city.

It was a memorable outreach. And Brian & Jenny of Goodness Gracious Ministry cooked a super meal from their food truck. Chili dogs and fried Oreo cookies! Pastor Cody usually doesn’t eat at the outreach, but you should have seen the plate they sent home with him. He said it was a fantastic meal!!

Kevin Chapman did the message, and as always, it was a great message, toward helping the homeless find God and set their lives straight.

Other Highlights

Cooking for the Weekly Outreaches

We want to thank so many people for cooking this past month. Goodness Gracious Ministry cooked a fantastic meal on 8/1. Pastor Magdi Shaker and his wife, Evone, cooked an Egyptian meal on 8/8 which everyone loved. Pastor Magdi cooks for us every 3-4 months. Impact Companies cooked for us on 8/15 and everyone was so appreciative. Impact is cooking for us once a month for the entire year of 2018. Judy & Charlie Hopkins cooked a great meal for us on 8/22. They also cook every month and we thank all of these wonderful people for their dedication to help with the homeless. Pastor Cody is afraid that Heather is going to forget how to cook, with all the wonderful meals people are providing!!

Other Key Events That Happened This Last Month

  • We want to thank all of our faithful volunteers & sponsors; without them, we would not be able to operate.
