Broken Chains Annual Christmas Outreach

Our annual Christmas Outreach was a complete and wonderful success!! Kevin Owens and Breslin Builders catered an entire Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, and everyone was able to go back for seconds and even thirds.

Music was provided by Skip, Kevin, DeeAnn & Christina. It was great; they sang all the old favorite Christmas songs and everyone sang along.

Kevin Chapman delivered the sermon and did a super job, as always!

Susie Clinger from IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management-local chapter), and her 3 daughters (Izzy, Abby & Grace) prepared and handed out 100 gift bags filled with all sorts of goodies; non-perishable food items, a hygiene kit, hats, socks, thermal underwear, winter sweatshirts and Christmas cards made by all the children at Twitchell Elementary School (see below).

We at Broken Chains hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Christmas and we wish you all a Happy New Year!!!

Other Highlights

Christmas Cards from Twitchell Elementary School

On December 22nd, Pastor Cody went to Twitchell Elementary School and was presented with over 100 handmade Christmas card to give to the homeless at our Christmas outreach. These cards were made by the children and are a beautiful representation of children wishing goodwill to those less fortunate in our Las Vegas community.

These cards were put in all of the gift bags that were handed out at our Christmas outreach.

On December 4th the Basic Academy of International Studies in Henderson held a PB&J-athon (Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich Marathon). 5 schools came together and prepared over 2,200 sandwiches to give out to those in need.

The sandwiches were given out to homeless on the streets; Salvation Army; Loaves & Fishes; US Vets; Goodness Gracious Ministry; On the Street; and Broken Chains.

Thank you to all the kids involved; for caring for the less fortunate in our city!! GOD IS GOOD!!

Canned Food Drive by Journey Education

Journey Education, a private school with 60 students, held a canned food drive with the goal of collecting 900 cans to donate to a worthy cause. Well, they collected over 1000 cans of food and donated them to Broken Chains!

On December 20th Katerina Blackwell delivered them to our pantry and we were overwhelmed!! Thank you, kids and parents from Journey Education!!! And a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all of you!
