Broken Chains Ministry

Monthly Newsletter – October 2017

Kevin Harris Gets a New Car!!

This past month one of our Board members, DeeAnn Bennett, and her husband Joseph donated a car to Broken Chains and all of the board members unanimously voted to present the car to Kevin Harris as a gift. As you all probably know, Kevin was once homeless and has come to know Jesus Christ; has overcome many obstacles; and now has a home and a job (and 2 old, old cars that don’t run well!!).

So now Kevin has a 2001 Infiniti I30 (in pristine shape) and can retire the other cars. Good Luck with your new car Kevin!! Thank you, DeeAnn & Joseph!!!

Other Highlights

Sleeping Bags, Sleeping Bags, Sleeping Bags!!!

Now that the cold weather is approaching, we are in great need of sleeping bags for the homeless. Please prayerfully consider donating sleeping bags to the ministry (old or new, 1 or 20, everything helps). If you can help, please contact us through our website. Thanking you ahead of time!!! (Check out this link to purchase inexpensive sleeping bags).

CBN to Produce a Book of the 20 most powerful 700 Club stories.

Pastor Cody received an email this past month from the gentleman who is going to produce a book for CBN that tells 20 of the most powerful stories featured on The 700 Club over the past few years and they wish to include Pastor Cody’s story.

This book will be called “Rise Up; Remarkable Faith, Relentless Courage” and will be out sometime the first part of next year. We will let you know!

Lucas Bennett gets Baptized

Lucas Bennett, son of one of our board members, DeeAnn Bennett, got baptized on Sunday September 24th at The Crossing Southeast located in the Pinecrest Academy-St. Rose campus. Lucas is 10 years old and was very excited about his baptism.

We were privileged to be invited to the ceremony and wish Lucas a great & long lasting relationship with Jesus Christ!

Pastor Cody Meets His Great Grandson for the First Time!

Pastor Cody got to meet his great-grandson for the first time this past month. His name is Ryder and he is 3 years old. He spent the night with us on Saturday, September 16th and then went to church with us on Sunday. In the picture, he fell asleep after Pastor Cody wore him out!!

Then he and his mother, Stormy, came to our Wednesday night outreach on September 20th, along with Stormy’s sister and her son. So we are having a wonderful time with Ryder!!!
